Last week, Council issued precautionary boil water notices in both Dannevirke and Eketāhuna following public health advice.
According to the NZ Drinking Water Standards, if a boil water notice is issued (precautionary or otherwise), councils must receive three consecutive clear water tests in order to be able to lift the notice.
Below is today’s test result and update:
Test results received today show that turbidity levels in both Dannevirke and Eketāhuna are still above the required levels that are stated in the NZ Drinking Water Standards.
This means that council is not able to lift the notices today.
Testing of water in the town reticulation shows that no e. coli has been detected in the system.
An update will be provided at 3pm tomorrow (22 Sept) after our teams have received the next set of test results.
