Term 4 Respect Focus – Uniform and Inter House Sports Clothes

Term Four Respect Focus

Uniform and Inter House sports clothes

This term we have a school wide focus on Respect. We know that students who respect themselves, their learning, each other and the school create a great environment for everyone to learn and to have some fun! To help us further develop our levels of focus we are setting mini challenges throughout the term.

Our first Respect challenge is for everyone to be wearing the correct uniform including wearing the correct Dannevirke South School hat. In Term One and Four all our students must wear the correct school hat to play outside to ensure their safety in the hard New Zealand sun.

If we can reduce the number of incorrect uniform pieces this week by 40% (this includes not having a school hat) the school will earn a Sausage Sizzle morning tea on Monday 8 November. Please support our students to reach this goal by reminding them to wear the correct uniform (including their hats). We do have more hats available for purchase ($12.00) at our school office if you need a new one.

We have also restarted Inter House sports every Friday for year 4 to 8 students. We really want to further build that competitive and fun house spirit at South! Students are able to change into house coloured clothing at lunchtime. If they do not have house coloured clothes (and hat) then they must wear their school uniform.

Due to sun safety, singlets and any tops that do not cover the shoulders or body are not able to be worn (unless they are over a sleeved top). If you are able, please support your child to dress up in as many of their house colour items as possible. The best dressed house also earns extra points!!

Let’s make this term a term of learning, respect and lots of fun!

House colours are:  Arawa (Red), Ngapuhi (Blue), Rangitane (Yellow), Tuhoe (Green)
